Guide for Authors

As explained in the Editorial Charter, IIIS journal welcomes innovative, high-impact articles on emerging or deployed intelligent systems and technology with solid evaluation or evidence of success on a variety of topics. These topics include, but are not limited to:

  • Intelligent agent systems
  • Intelligent bioinformatics and biomedical systems
  • Intelligent information and multimedia systems
  • Intelligent robotic systems
  • Intelligent tutoring and educational systems
  • Knowledge engineering, modeling and capture systems
  • Knowledge based software engineering
  • Large-scale machine learning systems and technology
  • Machine learning applications
  • Online commerce, games, information search and advertising systems
  • Planning and scheduling systems
  • Social intelligence systems
  • Speech and language understanding and processing systems
  • User behavior modeling and learning, intelligent user interfaces

The editorial office must be supplied with phone and email address of the corresponding author.

Language: 

American or British usage is accepted, but not a mixture of these.

Letter to the editor:

The content of a letter to the editor must relate to a specific article published in

Article Types: 

  1. Original Articles: Original, in-depth clinical and investigative laboratory research papers. A structured abstract should be included. The text should not exceed 3500 words, excluding the abstract, references, figures, and tables — not to exceed 8 figures or tables.
  2. Reviews: A current review of a disease or treatment. The word count should not exceed 5000 words excluding the abstract, references, figures, and tables.
  3. Case reports: They are formatted with introductory sentences, followed by a report of a case and comment; they should not exceed 1000 words, 4 figures, and 15 references.
  4. Short Communication: short communication should contain original data as per the description is given under “original articles” but their length should not exceed 1500 words; 20 references; and 2 figures/tables.

Paper Submission Authors are invited to submit original papers in Latex/Word format in the IEEE style. Templates can be downloaded from this link: https://www.ieee.org/conferences/publishing/templates.html.

Further considerations:

  • The manuscript has been 'spell-checked' and 'grammar-checked. Also, upon the reviewer’s recommendation, the paper might be requested to be sent to language editing /polishing by professionals and it will be done at the cost of the authors. Authors will be then informed.
  • References are in the correct format for this journal
  • All references mentioned in the Reference list are cited in the text, and vice versa
  • Permission has been obtained for use of copyrighted material from other sources (including the Web)
  • Color figures are clearly marked as being intended for color reproduction on the Web (free of charge) and in print, or to be reproduced in color on the Web (free of charge) and in black-and-white in the prin
