Publication Ethics

  1. Duplicate publication: The submitted articles should not have published in its current form or a substantially similar form (in print or electronically, including on a web site) elsewhere.  
  1. Informed consent: informed written consent should be obtained in studies involving human subjects, human-derived materials or medical records.
  1. For animal studies, it must be approved by the author’s institutional animal care and conducted according to the NIH Guide for the Care and Use of Laboratory Animals.
  1. If the plagiarism is detected, the manuscript may be rejected and the author's institution/employer notified.
  1. Copyright: Each author must sign a statement transferring copyright ownership.
  1. Conflict of Interest: Financial contributions and any potential conflict of interest must be acknowledged under the heading ‘Conflict of Interest’. Authors must list the source(s) of funding for the study. This should be done for each author. 
  1. Authorship: All authors should confirm that they have read and approved the paper.
